Hygienic Liquid Batch Measurement | Equipment Selection
Equipment selection | Manufacturer reference and ProSense commentary
Specify equipment for hygienic liquid batch measurement: measurement requirements, interfaces, installation details and the information needed for a useful quotation.

JUJEA identifies food and pharmaceutical flow measurement and automated manufacturing as application areas. This example considers batch specification; it does not certify a process, instrument or installation.
Provide the liquid properties
A useful specification includes liquid identity, conductivity where relevant, viscosity, entrained gas or solids, temperature, pressure and the expected flow range. State minimum batch size and acceptable tolerance. These details help distinguish a suitable meter from one that merely has the right pipe connection.
Check wetted parts and cleaning conditions
Request materials and seal details, process connection dimensions and pressure/temperature ratings for the ordered configuration. Supply cleaning chemicals and cleaning-cycle conditions. Do not infer food-contact approval, pharmaceutical qualification or compatibility with a cleaning process from product appearance or the word sanitary.
Match the signal to the batch controller
Confirm the pulse characteristics, analogue scaling or register map required by the controller. Analogue flow indication and reliable batch totalisation are different functions. Establish whether the meter, controller or software holds the authoritative batch total and how that value is recovered after an interruption.
Review the complete supply scope
Ask the supplier to identify meter variant, fittings, display or controller, cables, configuration and documentation. Confirm whether programming and acceptance testing are included. The two ProSense sanitary meter links below are candidates for specification review, not statements that either suits every liquid or batch requirement.
