An Acrel Metering Schedule for Mixed Building Circuits
Publisher: ProSense Instruments | AI-assisted application commentary | Sources checked 2 November 2026
A Acrel equipment-selection brief covering metering points, current sensors and communications.
Source type: Manufacturer solution guide. Acrel's building energy guide, published 4 December 2023, organises selection around circuit type, whether meters are installed together or separately, and available communications. This brief applies those ideas to operational zone reporting; it is not a completed ProSense project.

Turn the boundary drawing into an order schedule
For each point, supply the circuit identifier, location, phase arrangement, expected current range and desired measurements. Group points by switchboard and site so the meter count reflects installation constraints rather than only nominal channel capacity.
Confirm the measurement interface
Identify direct-connected and current-transformer arrangements separately. Where sensors are used, provide conductor dimensions and confirm the exact meter input, ratio and compatible sensor type. Do not substitute a current sensor on the basis of aperture alone.
Specify downstream and upstream communications
A gateway needs a defined interface to its meters and a defined path to the receiving platform. Include protocol information, network availability and who manages access. A wireless option in a model range does not establish that every ordered variant supports the intended network.
Request traceable configuration information
Ask the supply scope to identify model codes, current datasheets, point naming, units and any required configuration. Include a register map or agreed data output where the receiving system needs one. Keep software and integration work explicit rather than assuming it is included with hardware.
Acceptance criteria for the schedule
The project team should verify point identity, sensor ratios, phase association and the direction of measured power as applicable. Check that the operational report uses the intended boundary. Installation and any metering approvals required by a separate billing use need their own assessment.
