Rotary Paddle Level Switch for Bulk Solids – Threaded Silo Level Sensor
Reliable rotary paddle level switch designed for detecting high or low levels of bulk solids in silos, bins, and hoppers. Featuring a stainless steel paddle, rugged aluminium housing, and threaded process connection, this sensor provides dependable point-level detection for powders, pellets, and granular materials in industrial environments.
The rotary paddle level switch is a proven mechanical solution for monitoring the presence of bulk solids within silos, bins, and storage hoppers. Designed for industrial applications, the device uses a rotating paddle that stops when material surrounds it, triggering a switch signal to indicate that the preset level has been reached.
This technology is widely used in industries handling powders, grains, pellets, and granular materials, including food processing, cement, plastics, chemicals, and agriculture. When material reaches the paddle, the rotation is impeded, causing the internal motor mechanism to activate a switching output that can be connected to alarms, control systems, PLCs, or conveyors.
The device features a durable aluminium alloy housing and a stainless steel paddle designed for long operational life in harsh environments. A threaded mounting connection allows easy installation into the side of a silo or bin wall, while optional flange mounting configurations are available for larger vessels.
With high reliability and simple mechanical operation, rotary paddle switches provide stable level detection even in dusty environments where optical or ultrasonic sensors may struggle. A high-temperature version is also available for installations exposed to elevated process temperatures.
This makes the device ideal for point-level detection, overfill protection, and inventory monitoring in bulk material storage systems.
