The ProSight Electromagnetic Flow Meter – Non-Intrusive, Accurate & Corrosion-Resistant is an industrial flow measurement instrument designed to accurately measure the flow rate of electrically conductive liquids. It is based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction, allowing the instrument to determine liquid velocity without placing moving mechanical components inside the flow path.

Because there are no impellers, turbines, or other moving parts in the measuring tube, it offers reliable operation with minimal mechanical wear and low maintenance requirements. The unobstructed measuring tube also creates very little additional pressure loss, making the flowmeter suitable for continuous process applications.

It can be supplied with different lining materials and electrode materials to accommodate a broad range of conductive liquids and process conditions. Depending on the selected configuration, the meter can feature an integrated or remote converter/display and provide outputs such as 4-20mA, pulse, RS485, and HART, allowing integration with PLCs, SCADA systems, HMIs, data acquisition equipment, and industrial automation systems.

How Does It Work?

  • The flowmeter generates a controlled magnetic field across the measuring tube.
  • As the conductive liquid passes through the magnetic field, it generates a small electrical voltage.
  • The induced voltage is proportional to the velocity of the liquid flowing through the pipe.
  • Electrodes installed on the measuring tube detect the generated voltage.
  • The flowmeter's electronic converter processes the signal and calculates the liquid flow velocity.
  • The flow velocity is combined with the known cross-sectional area of the pipe to determine the volumetric flow rate.
  • The resulting flow measurement can be displayed locally or transmitted to an external monitoring or control system.
  • The output signal can be used for flow monitoring, totalization, batching, process control, and automated equipment management.

Why Choose this Product?

  • No moving parts – Eliminates mechanical components inside the flow path that can wear or require frequent maintenance.
  • Low pressure loss – The unobstructed measuring tube minimizes additional resistance to liquid flow.
  • Reliable measurement – Provides stable and repeatable flow measurement for compatible conductive liquids.
  • Wide application range – Suitable for water, wastewater, chemicals, slurries, food products, and other conductive liquids.
  • Flexible material selection – Multiple lining and electrode materials can be selected according to the liquid being measured.
  • Corrosion-resistant options – Suitable configurations are available for aggressive or corrosive media.
  • Integrated or remote display – Provides installation flexibility for different plant layouts.
  • Multiple output options – Supports 4-20mA, pulse, RS485, and HART options depending on configuration.
  • Automation compatible – Can be integrated with PLC, SCADA, HMI, and industrial control systems.
  • Good long-term reliability – The absence of moving parts helps reduce mechanical wear.
  • Low maintenance requirements – Minimizes routine servicing associated with mechanical flowmeters.
  • Suitable for continuous operation – Designed for industrial processes requiring ongoing flow measurement.
  • Flexible installation – Available with different process connection and installation configurations depending on model selection.
