online sludge concentration sensor measures MLSS (Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids) using the infrared scattered-light method. When infrared light is projected into the sample, suspended sludge particles scatter the light. The sensor determines sludge concentration by analysing the intensity of the back-scattered signal, comparing it to internal calibration data, and applying linearisation.
The probe uses a 316L stainless steel housing and an optical fiber structure, delivering excellent resistance to ambient light interference and harsh wastewater environments. An integrated Pt1000 temperature sensor provides automatic temperature compensation, improving accuracy under varying process conditions. With IP68 protection (≤20 m) and an integrated cleaning mechanism, the XS-MLSS408 is designed for continuous, low-maintenance, in-situ monitoring.
