The Shore A Digital Hardness Tester is a professional-grade durometer designed to accurately measure the indentation hardness of soft materials such as rubber, plastics, leather, grease, and wax. The type A durometer is suitable for medium penetration hardness tests, and it features a wide measuring range (0–100HA), zero setting function, and a hold mode for capturing readings.
For materials yielding readings above 90HA, the use of a Shore D durometer is recommended for more accurate results. To ensure optimal accuracy, test samples should have a minimum thickness of 6mm (or be layered appropriately) and allow at least 18mm of distance from sample edges.
