Portable Soil & Water Research Monitoring Station – RS485 Modbus, Solar-Ready
A modular field-monitoring platform developed for agricultural, environmental and aquatic research. Connect compatible RS485 Modbus sensors to measure soil, water and environmental parameters across field trials, research plots and remote study sites. Solar-ready operation supports extended deployments where mains power is unavailable.
The Portable Environmental Research Monitoring Station provides researchers with a configurable platform for collecting soil, water-quality and environmental measurements in field conditions.
Designed for universities, research organisations, agricultural trials, environmental consultants and government monitoring programs, the system supports compatible sensors using the Modbus RTU over RS485 communication standard.
Researchers can select sensors according to the objectives of each study instead of being restricted to a fixed set of measurements. This makes the platform suitable for pilot studies, replicated field trials, longitudinal monitoring and multi-site research programs.
Depending on the selected instruments, the station can monitor:
- Soil moisture
- Soil temperature
- Soil electrical conductivity
- Soil pH
- Water temperature
- Water pH
- Electrical conductivity
- Salinity and total dissolved solids
- Dissolved oxygen
- Oxidation-reduction potential
- Turbidity
- Water level
- Flow and pressure
- Weather and environmental conditions
The local operating interface supports on-site system configuration, instrument checks and observation of current measurements. Its Android-based platform provides researchers and field technicians with a familiar environment for managing connected devices.
For automated research programs, the station can be connected to a compatible data logger, RTU, PLC or communications gateway. This enables scheduled measurements, historical datasets, remote dashboards, alarm notifications and data export, depending on the selected system architecture.
Solar-ready power options support monitoring at research plots, farms, ponds, wetlands, waterways and other locations without reliable access to mains electricity.
