An industrial atmospheric visibility sensor using forward-scattering optics to accurately measure visibility distance up to 2000 m. Designed for harsh outdoor environments with RS485 / RS232 communication for traffic, weather, and environmental monitoring systems.

This intelligent visibility instrument measures atmospheric visibility based on the forward scattering principle. An internal infrared light source emits controlled pulses, and the sensor measures the intensity of light scattered by suspended particles such as fog, haze, rain, dust, and smog. A microprocessor converts this signal into an accurate visibility distance output.

The unit features an integrated, compact aluminium alloy housing with surface coating for long-term corrosion resistance. Its lightweight yet rugged construction allows both fixed installation and mobile deployment on vehicles or portable platforms.

With RS485 (Modbus-ready) or RS232 output, the sensor integrates easily with PLCs, RTUs, SCADA systems, traffic controllers, weather stations, and IoT gateways. It is well suited to demanding environments such as highways, ports, offshore platforms, airports, and industrial sites.
