MONNIT Wireless Motion and Occupancy Sensor
MONNIT Wireless Motion and Occupancy Sensor is an ALTA wireless infrared motion sensor designed to detect movement and occupancy in indoor areas. Using passive infrared (PIR) sensing, it can monitor activity within its detection area and communicate readings wirelessly to the Monnit monitoring system. The standard version provides an 80° detection angle and is suited to applications such as occupancy monitoring, area access monitoring, offices, meeting spaces and hallways. Its AA battery configuration makes it suitable for wireless installations where convenient placement is important.
The MONNIT Wireless Motion and Occupancy Sensor uses a low-power passive infrared (PIR) sensing element to identify movement within its viewing area. The standard version has an 80° detection angle and is designed for general-purpose motion and occupancy monitoring.
The sensor uses the ALTA wireless platform at 433 MHz and is supplied in the standard AA battery configuration. The manufacturer's current product page lists two AA batteries and wireless sensor mounting hardware as included with this model.
How it works
- The PIR sensing element detects movement within the sensor's viewing area.
- The sensor communicates detected activity wirelessly through the ALTA system.
- Sensor information can be managed through iMonnit, where users can configure monitoring and notification actions.
- The sensor can be configured to trigger actions based on motion or no motion.
Why choose this product
- Wireless motion monitoring - Suitable where wired motion detection would be inconvenient or impractical.
- PIR detection - Designed specifically for detecting movement and occupancy.
- Standard 80° detection angle - Provides a general-purpose detection area for typical indoor monitoring.
- AA battery operation - Uses the standard AA battery configuration specified for this model.
- ALTA 433 MHz connectivity - Designed for use with the Monnit ALTA wireless platform.
Benefits
The MNS2-4-W2-MS-IR can help businesses monitor whether an area is being used without requiring a conventional wired sensor installation. Motion information can also be used as part of facility monitoring and notification arrangements through iMonnit.
