MONNIT Wireless 20 Amp Three-Phase Current Meter is a wireless three-phase AC current meter for monitoring electrical equipment and three-phase power systems. It uses three 0-20 amp current transducers to measure minimum, maximum and average RMS current, phase duty cycle and combined amp hours. The ALTA wireless sensor operates at 433 MHz and is supplied with a pre-installed 3 V industrial battery and SMA antenna.

The MONNIT Wireless 20 Amp Three-Phase Current Meter provides remote monitoring of AC current in three-phase electrical systems. The sensor uses three current transducers, allowing current to be monitored around the conductors without requiring a direct electrical connection to the monitored circuit.

It is intended for applications where operators need visibility of machine current or three-phase power usage. Monitoring changes in current can provide useful information about machine operation and help identify unusual power consumption or potential maintenance requirements.

How it works

  • Three 0-20 amp current transducers monitor the three phases of an AC system.
  • The sensor measures RMS current for each phase, including minimum, maximum and average values.
  • It records the duty cycle for each phase and combined amp hours across all three phases.
  • Measurements are transmitted wirelessly using the Monnit ALTA wireless system.
  • Monnit states that sensor alerts can be configured when monitored variables move beyond preset thresholds.

Why choose this product

  • Three-phase monitoring: One sensor is designed to monitor all three phases of a three-phase system.
  • Non-direct current measurement: Current transducers can be placed around the relevant conductors, avoiding a direct electrical connection to the monitored circuit.
  • Remote monitoring: Wireless communication allows current information to be collected without running a dedicated data cable from the sensor.
  • Operational visibility: RMS current and duty-cycle information can help identify changes in machine operation.
  • Threshold-based alerts: Monnit provides alert functionality for monitored values that exceed configured limits.

Benefits

The meter can help businesses monitor electrical loads and establish a clearer picture of how three-phase equipment is operating. Current trends can also provide useful information for investigating abnormal machine behaviour and planning maintenance.

For facilities with multiple machines, wireless monitoring can reduce the need for additional signal cabling between individual monitoring points and the wider monitoring system.
