Embedded Road Condition Sensor | Intelligent Icing, Water & Pavement State

This intelligent active road sensor is installed flush with the pavement to continuously monitor road surface conditions using microwave detection technology combined with a multi-parameter fusion algorithm. It identifies and quantifies surface states including ice presence and thickness, water film, dry/wet conditions, snow, and road temperature.

A built-in PT1000 platinum temperature sensor provides precise temperature measurement and enables temperature compensation within the MCU, improving the accuracy of ice detection and thickness calculation. The sensor can output ice warnings and alarms based on configurable thresholds and can be integrated with ambient temperature and humidity sensors for comprehensive roadway environmental monitoring.

With Modbus RTU communication, the sensor integrates easily into traffic management systems, ITS platforms, SCADA/PLC networks, and road weather information systems (RWIS), supporting safer operations and data-driven maintenance.
