DRAGINO IP65 Wireless Leak Detector is a wireless LoRaWAN water leak sensor for monitoring areas where early detection of water ingress is important. Three adjustable metal sensing posts detect water when it creates an electrical connection between them, triggering a leak event that can be transmitted to an IoT server. With LoRaWAN Class A v1.0.3, IP65 protection, configurable uplink behaviour and a replaceable CR123A battery, the LWL04 is suited to distributed monitoring in industrial and building environments.

The DRAGINO IP65 Wireless Leak Detector provides a simple way to monitor for water leaks without running signal cables to each detection point.

The sensor uses three metal posts positioned underneath the enclosure. When water reaches the posts and creates an electrical connection between them, the DRAGINO IP65 Wireless Leak Detector detects the condition as a water leak. The height of the sensing posts can be adjusted to suit the required detection point.

Once a leak is detected, the DRAGINO IP65 Wireless Leak Detector can transmit the event through a LoRaWAN network to an IoT server. The device can also transmit periodically and maintain information about the number of detected leak events and the duration of the latest leak. Event-based transmissions can be disabled where an application only requires periodic reporting.

The DRAGINO IP65 Wireless Leak Detector is supplied with a non-rechargeable CR123A battery. Dragino states that the battery can provide approximately 16,000 to 70,000 uplink packets, corresponding to an estimated battery life of approximately 2 to 10 years depending on operating conditions and configuration. The battery can be replaced by opening the enclosure.
