DRAGINO IM01 Series Multi-Channel Mesh Gateway with Optional 4G
DRAGINO IM01 Series Multi-Channel Mesh Gateway with Optional 4G is a LoRa-based Mesh edge gateway designed to connect compatible Mesh nodes and transfer sensor data to application systems. It supports multi-hop LoRa Mesh networking, allowing nodes to relay data through other nodes before reaching the gateway. The gateway provides Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity, with optional cellular networking, and supports MQTT and HTTPS application services. It also includes an open-source Debian system, built-in ChirpStack and Node-RED services, remote management and automatic provisioning for deployment and network administration.
The DRAGINO IM01 Series Multi-Channel Mesh Gateway with Optional 4G operates as a Mesh edge gateway within a Dragino LoRa Mesh network. It receives data from compatible Mesh nodes and can communicate with remote applications through an IP connection. Mesh nodes can relay packets over multiple hops, allowing communication beyond the direct radio range of the gateway.
For network connectivity, the IM01v2 provides a 10M/100M RJ45 Ethernet port and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. The documentation also identifies optional cellular networking. Application connectivity can use MQTT or HTTPS, while the gateway supports several LoRaWAN connection methods.
The gateway runs an open-source Debian system and can be managed through a web interface or SSH. It also provides remote management, automatic provisioning, a built-in ChirpStack local LoRaWAN server and a built-in Node-RED local application server.
How it works
- Mesh nodes communicate using the LoRa Mesh network.
- Nodes can relay packets through other nodes using multiple hops.
- The IM01v2 receives Mesh data and manages enrolled nodes.
- An Ethernet, Wi-Fi or optional cellular connection can provide the gateway's IP uplink.
- Mesh data can be forwarded to an MQTT server, while HTTPS application services are also supported.
Why choose this product
- Provides a dedicated gateway for Dragino LoRa Mesh networks.
- Supports multi-hop communication rather than requiring every node to communicate directly with the gateway.
- Offers several network connectivity options, including Ethernet and Wi-Fi.
- Provides local processing and management capabilities through Debian, ChirpStack and Node-RED.
- Supports deployment and management functions such as node enrolment, remote management and automatic provisioning.
Benefits
- Helps extend Mesh network coverage through multi-hop communication.
- Provides flexible options for connecting Mesh data to application infrastructure.
- Allows local services to be hosted directly on the gateway.
- Supports both individual node enrolment and batch import of multiple nodes.
- Provides web-based configuration for network, Mesh and forwarding settings.
