ACREL Three Phase Energy Meter with External CT
ACREL Three Phase Energy Meter with External CT is a compact three-phase energy meter designed for electrical measurement and monitoring using external current transformers. It is suitable for photovoltaic, energy storage and inverter-based power systems where accurate electrical data and fast response are required. The meter supports RS485 communication with Modbus RTU, allowing measured information to be integrated into compatible monitoring or energy management systems. Its 18 mm DIN rail format helps conserve space inside electrical distribution equipment.
The ACREL Three Phase Energy Meter with External CT is a three-phase energy meter from the ADL400M series, using an external current transformer for current measurement. The series is designed for applications including photovoltaic systems, energy storage systems and hybrid inverter arrangements where electrical parameters need to be monitored quickly and communicated to other equipment.
The D16 version has a maximum current of 120 A. The meter measures key electrical parameters and provides RS485 communication using the Modbus RTU protocol, making it suitable for connection to compatible monitoring and energy management equipment.
Its compact 18 mm wide, 35 mm DIN rail format is useful where available panel space is limited. Acrel also specifies a 50 millisecond power parameter update rate for the ADL400M series.
How it works
- The meter receives three-phase voltage measurements and current measurements through an external current transformer.
- It calculates electrical parameters from the sampled voltage and current.
- Measured information can be communicated to compatible equipment through RS485 using Modbus RTU.
- In PV and energy storage systems, the measured electrical data can be used by compatible inverter or energy management equipment for monitoring and control functions.
Why choose this product
- External CT measurement - allows current measurement without routing the full load current directly through the meter.
- Compact DIN rail design - the 18 mm wide housing helps make efficient use of electrical cabinet space.
- RS485 Modbus RTU - provides a commonly used wired communication method for integration with compatible systems.
- Fast measurement updates - the manufacturer specifies a 50 millisecond update rate for power measurements.
- Suitable for energy systems - designed around PV, energy storage and inverter-based applications.
Benefits
- Provides centralised electrical measurement for connected monitoring systems.
- Supports remote collection of meter data through RS485 communication.
- Helps optimise panel space with a narrow DIN rail form factor.
- Provides a practical metering option for three-phase renewable energy and power conversion systems.
