ACREL Smart Gateway with Ethernet and RS485 is a communication and data management device designed to collect information from connected field devices and transfer it to upper-level monitoring or management systems. It supports communication through Ethernet, two RS485 channels and one LoRa channel, with support for multiple communication protocols. The gateway can collect data from up to 64 devices and provides local and remote configuration functions, making it suitable for industrial monitoring, energy management and other connected measurement applications.

The ACREL Smart Gateway with Ethernet and RS485 provides a central communication point between field devices and higher-level monitoring systems. It is designed to collect device data through its RS485 and LoRa interfaces and transmit the information through Ethernet.

The gateway supports up to 64 connected devices and a range of communication protocols, allowing it to be used with different types of monitoring and measurement equipment. The manufacturer specifies an embedded Linux platform with real-time monitoring and management functions.

How it works

  • Field devices communicate with the gateway through two isolated RS485 channels and one LoRa channel.
  • The gateway collects data from connected devices, supporting protocols including Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, DL/T645-1997, DL/T645-2007, CJT188-2004 and OPC UA.
  • Collected information can be transferred through the Ethernet interface using supported uplink protocols including Modbus TCP, 104, SNMP and MQTT.
  • The gateway provides data storage and supports data download resume functionality.
  • Configuration can be performed locally or remotely.

Why choose this product

The ACREL Smart Gateway with Ethernet and RS485 is suited to installations where different field communication interfaces need to be brought together through one gateway. Its combination of RS485, LoRa and Ethernet communication provides flexibility when connecting wired and wireless devices to an IoT or monitoring system.

The support for multiple communication protocols also allows the gateway to work as a communication bridge between field equipment and higher-level software or monitoring platforms.
