ACREL Residual Current Earth Leakage Protection Relay
ACREL Residual Current Earth Leakage Protection Relay is a range of residual current and earth leakage relays designed to monitor leakage current in low-voltage electrical distribution systems. The range includes the ASJ10-LD1A Type A, ASJ10-LD1C AC type and ASJ10L-LD1A Type A with LCD display models, providing selectable residual current thresholds and time-delay settings to suit different protection requirements. The relays are intended for use with low-voltage circuit breakers or contactors in TT and TN distribution systems.
The ACREL Residual Current Earth Leakage Protection Relay are designed for monitoring earth leakage and residual current on low-voltage AC distribution lines. Acrel specifies the series for TT and TN distribution systems with AC 50 Hz and rated voltage of 400 V and below, with the relay used together with low-voltage circuit breakers or contactors.
The three models provide different sensing and display options:
- ASJ10-LD1A - Type A residual current relay for detecting sinusoidal AC and pulsating DC residual current.
- ASJ10-LD1C - AC residual current relay for detecting simple sinusoidal alternating current.
- ASJ10L-LD1A - Type A residual current relay with LCD display, supporting the same broad Type A sensing range as the ASJ10-LD1A.
How it works
The relay monitors residual current in the electrical circuit and compares the measured value with the configured residual action current. When the relevant operating condition is reached, the relay output can be used with associated switching equipment such as a low-voltage circuit breaker or contactor. Adjustable non-driving time settings allow a delay to be selected before the relay operates.
