ACREL Dual-Circuit Single Phase Energy Meter with External CT is a dual-circuit single phase energy meter designed for monitoring electrical parameters and energy consumption in new energy systems. Using external current transformers, it can monitor two separate single phase circuits while measuring voltage, current, power, power factor, frequency and active and reactive energy. With RS485 Modbus-RTU communication and 35 mm DIN rail installation, it is suited to photovoltaic systems, microinverters, energy storage systems and AC-coupled applications.

The ACREL Dual-Circuit Single Phase Energy Meter with External CT is a dual-circuit single phase energy meter with external current transformer inputs. It is designed primarily for new energy applications including photovoltaic grid-connected systems, microinverter systems, energy storage systems and AC-coupled systems.

The meter samples and monitors electrical parameters from two single phase circuits. Measurements include voltage, current, active power, reactive power, apparent power, power factor, frequency, active energy and reactive energy.

The ACREL Dual-Circuit Single Phase Energy Meter with External CT can communicate with an inverter or energy management system through RS485 using the Modbus-RTU protocol. This makes it suitable for applications where measured electrical data needs to be incorporated into a broader energy monitoring or control system.

How it works

  • The meter receives voltage through the L1 and N connections.
  • Two external current transformers connect through the dedicated CT1 and CT2 RJ12 ports, allowing two separate single phase circuits to be monitored.
  • The meter measures electrical parameters and accumulated energy from the monitored circuits.
  • RS485 communication provides a Modbus-RTU connection for communication with compatible equipment such as an inverter or energy management system.
  • For correct current measurement, the manufacturer's wiring information specifies that the CT direction and arrow indication should correspond with the forward current or energy direction of the monitored circuit.

Why choose this product

  • Dual-circuit monitoring - One meter can monitor two single phase circuits using external CT inputs.
  • External CT measurement - Current is measured through external current transformers rather than requiring the monitored current to pass directly through the meter.
  • System communication - RS485 Modbus-RTU allows measured data to be integrated with compatible monitoring and energy management equipment.
  • DIN rail installation - The 35 mm DIN rail mounting format supports installation within suitable electrical enclosures.
  • New energy applications - Designed with photovoltaic, microinverter, energy storage and AC-coupled systems in mind.

Benefits

  • Monitor two single phase circuits from a compact metering device.
  • Collect electrical and energy data for system monitoring.
  • Support bidirectional energy measurement for suitable energy management applications.
  • Provide measured data to compatible inverter or EMS equipment through Modbus-RTU.
  • Simplify installation where external CT measurement is preferred.
