ACREL AKH-0.66 L Rectangular Window Current Transformer
ACREL AKH-0.66 L Rectangular Window Current Transformer is a low voltage current transformer designed to sit around a busbar or conductor and pass a scaled-down current signal through to a metering, protection or monitoring device. It's built with a rectangular window, which makes it a practical fit for flat busbar applications where a round aperture CT won't sit properly.
The ACREL AKH-0.66 L Rectangular Window Current Transformer is a current transformer built for low voltage systems where the primary conductor is a flat busbar rather than a round cable. Its rectangular window shape allows it to be installed directly over the busbar, making it a common choice in switchboards, distribution panels and power monitoring retrofits.
How it works
- The transformer's window is placed around the busbar carrying the current to be measured.
- As current flows through the primary conductor, the transformer induces a proportional, scaled-down signal in its secondary winding.
- This secondary signal is passed to a connected meter, relay or monitoring device, which uses it to display, record or act on the current reading.
- Because the transformer only needs to be positioned around the conductor, it can be installed without cutting into or rewiring the busbar itself.
Why choose this product
- The rectangular window is purpose-built for busbar mounting, rather than adapted from a round-core design.
- It's offered across five window sizes, so it can be matched to different busbar widths and depths without needing a custom unit.
- As part of the established AKH-0.66 range from Acrel, it's designed to work alongside Acrel's own monitoring, protection and metering equipment.
Benefits
- Suited to installation in switchboards and distribution boards where busbars are already in place.
- A range of aperture sizes means less need to compromise on fit.
- Straightforward mounting, without complex wiring changes to the primary circuit.
