ACREL AKH-0.66 K-P Protection Current Transformer
ACREL AKH-0.66 K-P Protection Current Transformer is a split-core protection current transformer for AC power distribution and protection applications. Available in K-P-120x60, K-P-160x80 and K-P-200x80 sizes, the series provides 5P10 protection accuracy and a range of primary current ratios. Its split-core construction supports installation around existing conductors and busbars.
The ACREL AKH-0.66 K-P Protection Current Transformer is designed for protection current transformer applications in low-voltage AC power distribution systems. The range includes K-P-120x60, K-P-160x80 and K-P-200x80 configurations.
The split-core construction is suited to retrofit and modification work where the existing primary conductor or busbar does not need to be removed. Acrel states that the AKH-0.66 K series can be installed without dismantling the primary busbar, making the design suitable for distribution system modification projects.
How it works
- The primary conductor or busbar passes through the CT opening.
- Current flowing through the primary conductor produces a corresponding secondary current.
- The secondary output can be connected to suitable protection or monitoring equipment.
- The K-P versions use a 5P10 protection accuracy class according to the manufacturer's specification.
Why choose this product
- Split-core construction simplifies installation around existing conductors.
- Available in three different window sizes for different installation requirements.
- Multiple primary current ratios are available within each model size.
- Designed specifically as a protection-type current transformer rather than a general metering CT.
- Suitable for power distribution modification and protection applications.
Benefits
- Supports protection current measurement without requiring removal of the primary conductor.
- Provides a choice of current ratios to suit different system requirements.
- The different physical sizes provide flexibility when working with larger busbars or conductors.
- Can be incorporated into existing power distribution and protection arrangements.
