ACREL AKH-0.66 G-30x30i Low Voltage Current Transformer
ACREL AKH-0.66 G-30x30i Low Voltage Current Transformer is a low voltage current transformer that steps a primary current down to a 5A secondary signal for meters and monitoring equipment. It has a square window that takes either a cable or a busbar, and a clear cover so the secondary wiring can be checked at a glance.
The ACREL AKH-0.66 G-30x30i Low Voltage Current Transformer is a compact current transformer for measuring alternating current in low voltage installations. It sits around a conductor and produces a smaller, proportional 5A signal that energy meters, power analysers and other instruments can read safely.
It is a solid core design, so it is fitted during panel build or when a conductor is being installed, rather than clamped on afterwards. The window is sized for a 28 mm cable or a 30 x 10 mm busbar, and the housing has a transparent polycarbonate flip cover over the secondary terminals.
How it works
- The conductor being measured passes through the window and acts as the primary winding.
- The transformer produces a proportional secondary current, 5A at the rated primary current.
- Lower ratios are achieved by looping the conductor through the window several times. For example, the datasheet lists 16 turns for the 5/5 ratio and 1 turn for 100/5 and above.
- The secondary output connects to a meter, transducer or monitoring device.
Why choose this product
- A wide ratio range in one housing, so the same body suits small feeders and large incomers.
- Rated load and accuracy options are published for each ratio, which makes matching to a meter straightforward.
- The clear cover allows a visual check of the secondary wiring without removing anything.
- It is made by an established manufacturer with a published datasheet and defined test standards.
Benefits
- Fewer part numbers to stock when a project uses several current ratings.
- Cable or busbar installation with the one unit.
- Easier commissioning and inspection.
