ACREL 100-1000 V DC Insulation and Current Monitoring Device is a DC insulation monitoring device for ungrounded DC systems from 100 to 1000 V. It monitors insulation resistance, DC voltage and DC current, with current measurement performed through a selected external shunt. The device provides LED alarm indication, RS485 communication with Modbus-RTU protocol and DIN rail installation, making it suitable for DC EV charging equipment and other DC power systems requiring insulation and electrical parameter monitoring.

The ACREL 100-1000 V DC Insulation and Current Monitoring Device is designed for online monitoring of ungrounded DC electrical systems. It monitors the insulation resistance of the positive and negative poles to earth and provides warning or alarm indication when the measured resistance falls below the configured value.

In addition to insulation monitoring, the device measures DC system voltage and DC current. Current measurement is made through a selected external shunt, with the manufacturer specifying Class 0.5 current measurement accuracy.

The ACREL 100-1000 V DC Insulation and Current Monitoring Device is primarily designed for DC EV charging equipment, while the manufacturer also identifies applications including energy storage DC systems, substation DC panels, UPS power supply systems and photovoltaic DC systems.

How it works

  • Monitors the insulation resistance of the positive and negative poles of an ungrounded DC system to earth.
  • Provides warning and alarm information when insulation resistance falls below the configured value.
  • Monitors DC voltage across the applicable DC system.
  • Measures DC current using a selected external shunt.
  • Provides status indication through LEDs and communicates measurement information through RS485 using Modbus-RTU.

Why choose this product

  • Combines insulation, voltage and current monitoring in one device.
  • Suitable for DC systems from 100 to 1000 V.
  • Provides Class 0.5 accuracy for the specified current measurement.
  • Supports RS485 communication using Modbus-RTU.
  • DIN rail installation suits integration into electrical cabinets and charging equipment.

Benefits

  • Helps identify deterioration in DC insulation resistance during operation.
  • Provides additional visibility of DC electrical parameters.
  • Allows monitored information to be incorporated into a compatible supervisory or control system.
  • Reduces the need for separate devices where insulation and current monitoring are both required.
